VH1 Pop Up Video

  • Opportunity: As a part of the on air re-launch of the classic VH1, Pop Up Video, the channel wanted to replicate that user experience online prior to the on-air launch of the show to create online social buzz. VH1 wanted their fans to have the ability to create personal and customized pop up videos to share out to Facebook.com and Twitter.com.

 

    • Solution: ClipSync created an application that can be used with any of the VH1 music videos available for creating pop ups. The application allows users to sign in with Twitter or Facebook and start creating pops at any place in the video. They users can choose their own icon for each pop, type in their own personalized pops, preview and share the final creation to their social graph.

 

  • Results: This application launched on September 13 and the on-air show launched on October 3. Pop Up Video online has been wildly popular and financially successful. Since the technology launched, the majority of the personalized pop up videos created have been shared to Facebook.
